Rith 2016 – Active Schools

Our next Active Schools event will be taking place on Sunday, March 13th.  The event is in association with “Rith 2016”.  This event is a nationwide initiative that involves 700 schools using athletics to promote Seachtain na Gaeilge.  (More details can be found on the website www.rith.ie) Each school will run 1km over the course of two weeks in a relay format.  St Joseph’s will be running from the bottom of Trinity Street to Scotch Hall on Sunday the 13th of March at approximately 12pm. The Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson of our Active Schools Committee will receive and carry the baton on behalf of our school.

We would like to invite all members of our school community to partake in this extremely positive event.  The arrangements for the day will be for everyone to meet on the Fair Green at 11:45.  We will walk  to Trinity Street where we will then run/walk the kilometre from Trinity Street to Scotch Hall as a group.

We look forward to taking part in this event as a school and hope that you can find the time to join us in a fun filled morning.
