The boys in R9 had an amazing day in Dublin today. We went on a 1916 Rising history walk, taking in Beggar’s Bush Barracks, Northumberland Rd. and Mount St. Bridge. After that the lads were treated to a guided tour of Google’s European headquarters followed by a career talk from Google staff and a virtual reality experience.
A massive well done to all the boys that took part in the Boyne Atheletics Club Challenge Cup. The boys performed very well across all races, from the 100m sprints all the way up to the lung busting 300m race.
The boys also had great success in the 4x100m relay races.
As you will see from the photos there was a huge haul of medals brought back from the Lourdes Stadium.
Well done to the boys from St. Josephs who represented the school so well at the recent Garda Sports Day. In what is an annual event that is always eagerly anticipated by students from all over Drogheda, it was great that the weather held up and allowed the students of Drogheda to demonstrate their athletic prowess. St. Josephs were well represented and competitive in all events and managed to take two medals in total back to Sundays Gate. A big congrats to all the boys and a big thank you to Mr. Mulroy for preparing the boys for the event.
A special word of thanks to the Garda Síochana of Drogheda for what is always a well run and exciting event and the O’Raghallaighs GFC for providing the facilities.
We look forward to welcoming back all our students tomorrow morning at 9.05 am. A particular word of welcome to all our new students in third class and, for the first time, in junior infants.
