Walking Tour of Drogheda

R6 went on a walking tour of Drogheda on 21st September. The tour was led by local historian Liam Reilly. We started off at the Tholsel, then went to St Laurence’s Gate, St Peter’s Church of Ireland graveyard and finished with St Oliver Plunkett’s head in St Peter’s Church, West Street. The sun was shining and a great day was had.

Paralympics Ireland

In R6 we have had an extra special interest in the Paralympics this year as Tommy’s brother,  Conor Tuite, is a member of the Irish Paralympics football team.

We carried out projects on all the different sports at the Paralympic Games 2016 and we kept up to date with all the results from the Irish participants.

Well done to Conor and all the Irish athletes!

Bug Hotel

R2 have begun to create a Bug Hotel in the school’s Native Garden.

Ms Thompson kindly delivered two pallets to school from which we are creating our Bug Hotel.

The boys in R2 and the Green Schools’ Committee are collecting plastic bottles filled with materials from the garden and the home. We are putting these into the Bug Hotel.

We are hoping to attract all kinds of bugs who are looking for a new home!
