Our Aistear topic this month was ‘At the Doctor’. We had four stations – Socio-dramatic area, construction, play dough and small world. Might there be some future doctors in the mix???

G5 Winter Art – Snowmen
The boys used chalk and charcoal to create these fantastic images, making use of light and shade. 
Science Week – G5 Gravity and Paper Helicopters
In this science experiment, the class made paper helicopters and explored gravity as a force as well as the principles of flight.

Today FM Visit to St. Joseph’s
Well done to all the boys, from 3rd and 4th Class, that took part in the interview with Shauna from Today Fm on Wednesday the 6th of November. They represented the school brilliantly and spoke very well, a fantastic advertisement for the school.

Knit n Natter
Knit n Natter is up and running again after the Mid-Term break. The first jumper knitted in the class is being modeled here. Its a fantastic winter woolly!
R12 meet Author Michael Smith
R12 and Michael Smith
The boys in R12 were invited to the town library to meet with and listen to author Michael Smith. Michael is most famous for his works on Antarctic explorer Tom Crean. His most well known children’s book is called ‘Ice Man’. The boys had been reading this book for a number of weeks and had some interesting and insightful questions for the author.
