RUGBY IN R2

We were having rugby drills in R2 and we were doing various passes like forward passes, back passes and side passes.

We had lots and lots of fun when we did rugby in our class.

School Receives National Flag and Proclamation.

Yesterday was a big day for the school. We received our National flag and a copy of the Proclamation from members of the army as part of the celebrations of the 1916 rising. One boy helped read the Proclamation and six other boys each read a prayer. The school will be writing a proclamation for what they think Ireland will be like in the future.

Credit Union Art Competition

Huge congratulations to Conor Russell from R6 who came 3rd in the 8-10 Category in the Credit Union Art Competition. The theme this year was ‘Happiness Is….’. There was a very high standard this year and we are all very proud of Conor. Conor was presented with his certificate and prize in the Westcourt Hotel on Thursday 22nd October.

Éanna Ní Lamhna visits our school

The Green School Committee was delighted to welcome a very special visitor on October 15th. Éanna Ní Lamhna of TV3 and RTE Radio fame visited the school to share her fantastic knowledge of  Biodiversity.

She brought us around the school grounds and showed that, even as a roadside urban school, we have a lot of nature around us.

Éanna gave us lots of ideas to help make our school more ‘Biodiverse’,  including the creation of a Native Garden.

We can’t wait to put some of her ideas into practice!
